Donations for Heartworm Treatments

A few dogs that have been pulled from shelters and placed in rescues, have had heartworms. These treatments are long and very costly. If you are one of those folks that can't foster an animal or adopt one, but want to help an animal in need, you can make a donation for heartworm treatment. This is Sandy...a 3 to 4 month old Dachshund mix female. She was surrendered because the owners live in an apartment and it wasn't fair for Sandy to have to live in a kennel all day and wait for her owners to come home. Puppies!!!

These precious little babies are up for adoption. Total, there are two black pups, one brown, and one that is white with black spots. (picture coming soon). These puppies are 5-6 weeks old. The mother is a small lab mix, about 35 lbs, so the puppies are not expected to get any bigger than that. They were taken from someones home who could not take care of them.

Puppies are very friendly and socialized and would make great pets for anyone looking for a companion. They were all recently wormed and will be going in to get shots and spay/neuter soon. If you are interested in one of these cute babies, contact Joanna for more information.

This cute little girl was in a litter of 5 that were found on the side of a rural road near Boerne. The Hill Country Animal League rescued the other 4 and the City of Boerne Animal Control kept this one because a couple of ladies were very interested in her but never returned. She is about 5 to 6 weeks old but thinks she is 10 times bigger than that. Has some scars on her back we believe might be chemical burns.

White Chow/Akita Mix-this guy ran out of time

This beautiful male mix is a little stand off-ish, is not neutered, and his exact age is not known. He growls at strangers and is partial to women, so he is going to need some tender loving care. He is in an unfamiliar place, so will need a day or two to get used to his surroundings.

According to a few things I have read, the Akita is a unique combination of dignity, courage, alertness, and devotion to its family. It is extraordinarily affectionate and loyal with family and friends, territorial about its property, and aloof with strangers. I believe Dan Aykroyd owns an Akita!!

The Chow is catlike in their attitudes: aloof, reserved with affection, independent, dignified and stubborn. They expect to be treated with dignity and respect, and in return, will respect you with undying loyalty if you are worthy of it. Martha Stewart has 4 Chow chows!!
