Cree, the Tabby

This cute girl is Cree. Her rescuers couldn't let her starve, so they took her in, got her spayed, and are looking for a permanent home for her, since some of the family is allergic to cats. She loves to be brushed and will lay in bed with you if you need a friend. She also doesn't mind getting her nails trimmed. She would be a great cat for an adult family. She doesn't like children or dogs that much, not sure about cats. But she would be a great companion animal for an adult family. If this cute girl interests you, please give Allan Nelson a call at 210.559.1690

Animals seized in animal cruelty raid-up for adoption

These dogs were in a bad situation, but thanks to Bandera County, they have a second chance at a great life. On Friday, June 12, 2009, Bandera County seized 19 dogs in an animal cruelty raid. All of them have had a major flea infestation causing sores, but they are negative for mange. One of them has a broken foot and is at the vet getting pain meds. All of the dogs have very nice temperaments, which will make them great pets with a little love and care. I have a picture of each dog. Send me an email, or give me a call and I can send you what I have (Laura 770.851.8535 or laura@substation9.com) If you are interested in either adopting or possibly fostering, please contact Laura or Jennifer Gaertner, Bandera County Liaison for Animal Control Issues, at (830) 460-1376. Also, check out their website! www.banderacountyac.org

:Update:Brownie the Corgi mix

Brownie hasn't had the best of luck lately. She is back at the shelter because her new owners brought home another dog, decided they couldn't keep both dogs, and determined they liked the other dog better. Brownie is spayed and opening up! She will be a great dog for someone. If you are interested in this cute girl, please contact the Boerne Animal Shelter. Contact information is below.

This is Brownie. She was surrendered by someone who claimed that her husband acquired Brownie without her knowledge. She is already spayed but her age is unknown. She is a little withdrawn as she is scared in her new surroundings and is probably wondering what she did wrong.

She is starting to come around at the shelter and sits at the gate, just waiting for you to take her home. She is so sweet! She needs to be put on a little diet and then replace that with a lot of love. For more information on this cutie, please contact the City of Boerne Animal Control at 830-249-2456 or contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

Diego and Waylon, the Chihuahuas

These little guys just want some love from a great human friend or family. This is Diego (blk and tan) and Waylon (tan). They were turned into the shelter because their owner couldn't take care of them any longer (she has about 100 dogs). Both dogs are a bit shy, but with a little time, I'm sure they both will become great little dogs. Waylon is not neutered. If you have room to give these guys a chance, visit them at the Boerne Animal Shelter or call 830-249-2456. You can also contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

Bodie the Lab

At seven months he has not filled out yet but will be a beauty when he does. He may be a mix but looks 99.9 Black Lab. Beautiful coat and very sweet. Good with cats and dogs. He is out at the Hill Country Pet Ranch currently and can't wait for a loving home! For more information on the cute guy, please contact 830.510.6606 or email txjobenedict@yahoo.com. Thanks for looking!!

:Update: Dusty, the Aussie Mix

:Update: Dusty was taken in by a rescuer and is ready for a forever home. He is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He hasn't had a lot of training, so will need work on the leash. He is extremely lovable and gets along great with the other dogs in his household. For information on this guy, please contact Lori at 210.698.6616 (work number) or haklor@satx.rr.com

What a beautiful boy!! This male Australian Shepherd was found near Comfort. He had a collar but no tags and negative for a microchip. He gets excited and likes to jump, so he may need some manners training. He was found as a stray, so his age is unknown. For more information on this precious boy, please contact the City of Boerne Animal Control at 830-249-2456 or contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

This sweet boy is ready for a friendly home!!

Miley the Mix

This is Miley, the smiley dog. She is a lovely girl, about 10 months old and 45 pounds. Her rescuers have spayed her and given her all shots; she is on flea and heartworm prevention. Not yet microchipped. She is a girl that just wants to play. Will play for HOURS! Miley is good with cats and dogs; crate and house trained, and likes to go in the car. She is apparently a golden-collie mix (see tail and feathers!) She needs a home where she will be trained and let inside, and given lots of attention. Likes to hang out on the couch in the evening. If you think a fun and active dog would fit your lifestyle, then check this cute girl out! For more informatin, contact Polly, Michael or Betty Paese at Gotta Ride Bikes in Fair Oaks at 830-755-8039.

Momma cat with her kittens

This lady was nice enough to take in a starving mama cat and her kittens. All of these babies are up for adoption. The mama cat is a sweet girl as well. Cats and kittens are so much fun. If you would like to give this mother or her babies a chance at a good home with you.

or contact Gerald at 210-414-9238

Shelly, female german shepard mix

Shelly is approximately 4 years old. She is spayed, has all of her shots and is micro chipped. She weighs about 52 pounds. She does not get along well with other dogs, however, she might get along well with a small male dog, because she gets along well with Napolean, her poodle friend. It would be great if these two dogs could be adopted together, however if they get adopted separate would be fine. Shelly needs to be adopted with older kids (teenagers or older).

She takes a while to warm up to and is now more friendly and settled. She is a wonderful, sweet loving dog and is very well behaved.

Both dogs are house trained.

For more information on this beautiful girl, please contact Paula at 210.316.9890

Napolean, the poodle

Napoleon is approximately 4yrs of age, neutered, micro-chipped, and current on all of his shots. He is negative for heart worms and is a great dog! .

He walks well on a leash, travels well in a car, and is house broken. He crates well, does not really bark, and would probably do best in a home with tweens or older. He would do best in a home as a single pet, or in a home with another female dog, since he gets along great with Shelly the german shepard mix.

He will make someone a great lap dog. For more information on this cute guy, please contact Paula at 210.316.9890

Male German Shepard Mix-Gone

This male German Shepherd mix came in from Comfort. He has a collar but no tags and no chip. He is an older dog, is a bit slow, is hard of hearing sometimes, and is not neutered. What a great choice for an adoptable pet, a laid back quiet type of guy! He just needs a warm bed to lay in at night and he will be forever devoted to you. FOr more information on this beautiful guy, contact the City of Boerne Animal Control at 830-249-2456 or contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

Precious Kitten

This precious ball of fur needs a loving home. This cute 5 to 6 week old male was found at State Farm Insurance in Boerne. No mom or siblings could be found. Probably part of a litter from a feral (wild) cat. He acts feral himself but is small enough to be tamed. If you want to take this little guy home with you, please contact the
City of Boerne Animal Control at 830-249-2456 or contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

Kitties, Kitties, Kitties

It is the season for precious furry babies. There are so many cute kittens to choose from, just look at all the pictures on this post.

Right now, the shelter has almost 25 different kittens from Siamese to orange Tabbies and Black & White to solid black. They are approximately 5 to 8 weeks old.

The shelter is starting to get them in 3 to 5 at a time. In the past two weeks, they have gotten 57 cats and kittens combined (most of them kittens)....they have only 15 small cages and 4 condos in their cat room, which means there isn't enough room for all the kitties.

If you are interested in a super cute and playful companion, check out all the adorable kittens at the City of Boerne Animal Control. Give them a ring at 830-249-2456, or contact Dino at darellano@ci.boerne.tx.us

Great Dogs at the Bandera Pound

Here are a few great dogs waiting to be adopted at the Bandera pound. Here is a bit of information on these guys:
Sarge, a young shepherd mix, male. He has a great personality just needs to be able to get out and run off some energy.
Shep, a husky/shep mix male. He is very quiet, loves people. Does not like other dogs messing with him but is very good in a crate and in the car. Wants to bond with someone and go home, he has a very expressive face and will make a great companion dog. He is also young.
Reba
, appears to be a boxer mix and she is only about six/seven months old, rolls over to give you her tummy. She is a little scared of what is going on with her but loves affection. She is small and will not be a large dog.
Cole
is a five month old pup, and he is a mix, could be anything. He is a typical puppy wanting attention and someone to rub his belly. He will not be very big either.
Kay and Delilah may go to a rescue group in Austin. Will update as soon as I get more information. Momma May and puppies: Momma May is a very small Pit Bull mix and we don't know what the puppies are mixed with.
Trooper, Katy (which turned out to be a male)and Chiquita were recently placed in the shelter, along with Grace, who also turned out to be a male
. These dogs are pit mixes and will be put down soon because of room. If you have any interest in these pets, call or visit soon! I will try and get more pictures up on the blog since the pictures on the flyer are not clear, along with more information on each dog.

For more information on these pets, please call jennifer at 830.460.1376. Each dog would make a wonderful pet if given the chance!!
